Chinese Dumplings — Har Gow Dumplings (Crystal Shrimp Dumplings)

July 20 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Steamed Har Gow dumplings on a Chinese plate and a dipping sauce bowl with chili oil.

In this hands-on, in-person class, we will make Har Gow (aka steamed crystal shrimp dumplings) from scratch. These are one of the most popular dumplings served in every dim sum restaurant! We’ll make both the filling and the dough from scratch!

  • Location: Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, 179 Neptune Drive, Brunswick, ME
  • Length: 3 hours
  • Required Cooking Skills: some experience making Chinese dumplings with scratch-made dough recommended, but not required!
  • Full class details

* If you have any questions about allergens or ingredients, please ask in advance! Doughs for these dumplings require wheat starch. While Wheat starch is generally gluten free, we are hosting the class in a shared commissary kitchen space, and cross contamination is unavoidable. These should NOT be consided gluten free for that reason. The most common allergens are probably shrimp, wheat, and soy.
